The writing is okay, sometimes it doesn't match with what happened for some reason. The world is generic to the bone but that's okay. Small decisions feel impactful and important but often big decisions that feel like it should change the story do nothing. For example after multiple attempts I managed to become a lich and nothing changes but some stats. I became a floating skeleton powered by evil and the story didn't care. Made it hard to convince myself to try for the other special endings.

This game is what I expect out of CYOA games. There is really only one path, but there are so many ways to go down it that each playthrough can feel unique and organic. My one gripe is how the characters are not really anything more than clay puppets, but it's easy to ignore that for everything else that's so interesting in this game.

In the most polite way possible, this was somehow very boring while still being good? There was literally zero characterization at all and the writing was quite bland, but I still had fun, lol. It's a decent little game, a good price tag for what it contains. The authors other works are WAY way better than this one but again, it's still enjoyable while being very meh. Like a nice plain cheese white bread sandwich.
